Bruce Prothro has served as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs since March 2019. Mr. Prothro has over 30 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Clinical Research and has worked in both small and large MedTech companies. He has held key management positions at Advance Cardiovascular Systems, KeraVision, ArthroCare, and Smith & Nephew and has worked with spine, orthopedic, ophthalmology, wound care, and cardiovascular products and technologies. At ArthroCare, Mr. Prothro was the Chief Regulatory Officer and Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance. When ArthroCare was acquired by Smith & Nephew in 2014, Mr. Prothro transitioned to Smith & Nephew’s Global Vice President for Regulatory Affairs leading their worldwide regulatory efforts. Since June 2016, Bruce has been consulting with a variety of companies in the spine, cardiovascular, hyperhidrosis, and wound care markets. In his career, Bruce has filed over 150 510(k)s, one of the FDA’s first modular PMAs, and has gained product approvals in key international markets including Japan, China, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, and the EU. Mr. Prothro is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley where he studied Chemistry and played football.
